COLUMBIA, NC – The Columbia Theater Cultural Resources Center, a Partnership for the Sounds facility, presents the 11th annual “Soul Food Celebration” on Friday, November 18, 2011, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to an old-fashioned “dinner on the ground” with musical entertainment.
Dinner on the ground is a longstanding local church tradition, usually held in the fall. It is a time of fellowship and reunion where families bring their favorite homemade fried chicken, casseroles, vegetables, desserts and other dishes to share with each other.
The Columbia Theater and Partnership for the Sounds celebrate this tradition of dinner on the ground each year to bring together the community of faith in Tyrrell County. Come join us for a day to feed our souls while nourishing our bodies. As part of this annual event, gospel music will be provided by the Washington County Male Chorus.
Thanks to the generous support of the Greater Tyrrell County Chamber of Commerce, the Tyrrell County Tourism Development Authority, and the Tyrrell County Visitor’s Center, the Theater will be providing all the food for Soul Food Celebration. It is our offering to the Tyrrell County community as we all still work together to recover from Hurricane Irene. Admission is free.
Join us for fun, food, and fellowship. Admission is free. Contact 766-0200, or 796-1000 for more information.
