Examples of programs provided for all home school groups are listed below. There is a $5.00 charge for each child. No charge for parents.
“History on the Cashie” Come and listen to an interesting story that reveals the history of the Cashie River and the town of Windsor. This area of Bertie County is filled with an abundance of history ranging from American Indian culture to shipping and boating on the Cashie River. The kids will get a better understanding and a glimpse into the past in this fun and exciting history program.
“Red Wolves” presented by The Red Wolf Coalition will talk to the kids about the red wolves that make their home in the Alligator River region of eastern North Carolina. The discussion will included the rehabilitation and reintroduction of this animal back into the wild along with many fascinating facts relating to the wolf.
“Living in the Atmosphere of the Sun” Members of Carolina Skies Astronomy Club celebrates NASA's "Sun-Earth Day" at Roanoke/Cashie River Center in Windsor, NC. Telescopes fitted with safe, solar filters, will provide visitors with views of the surface of the Sun, our nearest star. Mr. Bill All, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, presents a program "Living in the Atmosphere of the Sun" to share the beauty, relevance, and significance of our Sun's relationship to Earth and our solar system.
